- Degree in Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile disciplines.

Nationality and Medical Standards
Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from certain East African countries, Pakistan, Burma, or Sri Lanka with the intent to permanently settle in India are also eligible.
Furthermore, meeting the stringent medical standards, particularly A-1 category eyesight, is mandatory. This requires 6/6 distant vision without glasses, normal color vision, and no night blindness, along with other physical fitness parameters crucial for the role of an Assistant Loco Pilot.

Revised Exam Pattern and Syllabus

CBT 1 Syllabus

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
The CBAT is a psychometric test, and unlike the CBTs, it does not have negative marking. It assesses various aptitudes critical for a Loco Pilot, such as direction sense, depth perception, observation, concentration, and memory.
Final Merit Calculation
A significant change in CEN 01/2026 is the weightage for the final merit list. For this cycle, CBT 2 Part A and CBAT will each carry a 50% weightage, making CBAT equally important in the final selection process, unlike the previous 70:30 ratio.
Salary and Benefits
